Hemingway & the unborn artist (1992)

This work integrated the last words Ernest Hemingway wrote before he took his life, with the pregnant form of a first-time mother. The photos illustrate how symbols might wrap around and convey form, and convey the dual nature of all messages regarding hope and its converse, despair. Modern neuroscience has shown there are both positive and negative preferences associated to every category of object, event, or experience. These works directly embed this concept in a living form.
