Word Flow Sculptures (1991-1997, 2003-2009)

These pieces refer to phrases from literature, or conversations with other artists, swirling around each other in space to demonstrate the flow of emotion between individuals. Since the text is written on the interior of these glass/plexiglass constructions, these pieces can be handled, or mounted on the wall as an alternate form to painting with a 3-D perspective. As with the Word Flow Photos, this work and other concurrent work involving symbols represents a critique of the conceptual in art, which has missed the point of emotion and the messiness of intentionality.
